TelEvolution Selects iotum for Advanced Telecommunications Services
PhoneGnome™ Owners Now Have Access to Intelligent Call Management Features
(Danville, CA and Ottawa, Ontario – May 2, 2006 ) Voice 2.0 pioneers TelEvolution and iotum, today announce that they have entered into an agreement to provide iotum’s advanced telecommunications services on the PhoneGnome platform. The partnership of PhoneGnome and iotum enables PhoneGnome owners’ access to intelligent features such as prioritization of calls based on the caller and user activity. The partnership with iotum enables PhoneGnome owners to receive the calls they want, avoid the calls they don’t want, on the device they want to use.
“The partnership between TelEvolution and iotum fulfills the promise of our synergistic approach to third party applications,” said David Beckemeyer, founder of TelEvolution and developer of PhoneGnome. “PhoneGnome provides a platform for our partners to develop and implement applications with their own expertise – allowing PhoneGnome to provide a rich application selection to our customers.”
PhoneGnome is a simple yet revolutionary device that, once connected to one’s existing standard telephone line, delivers interoperable VoIP calling, low-cost PSTN calling, and next-generation VoIP features and capabilities, while also permitting owners to keep their existing phone number, retain access to 911/directory services, and preserve basic phone service in the event of an Internet or power outage.
“The simplicity and ease of use found in PhoneGnome, and their powerfully rich applications platform made integration both easy and a natural compliment for iotum’s Relevance Engine,” said iotum CEO Alec Saunders. “Now the power of having desired telephony features, relevant to each user, can be a reality to anyone with a telephone and a broadband connection.”
iotum’s Relevance Engine is the first solution to intelligently assess the relevance of any call, and automatically route that call to the most appropriate destination. PhoneGnome owners can use presence and context-driven applications to easily avoid interruptions, manage inbound calls, and maximize the use of their time.
“We are excited about our partnership with iotum,” said David Beckemeyer, founder and CEO of TelEvolution and the inventor of PhoneGnome. “iotum’s integration with PhoneGnome will bring our customers closer to our goal of inexpensive phone calls in a feature rich telephone experience.”
